Critical Biodiversity Risk Screening
This Biodiversity Management Action Plan sets out the actions to be undertaken with the aim of achieving not net loss to biodiversity in accordance with IFC PS6 (IFC, 2012). The mitigation measure is developed based on the conclusion from stakeholder consultation and is to be applied to all ThaiBev production sites.

This section highlights the main actions required as part of the BMP. The action type as identified within the mitigation hierarchy is shown in the Table: Detailed Management Plan. In addition to the direct mitigation measures, the BMP also includes a number of indirect measures that can be classified as enhancements; in that they create additional biodiversity value on the ground and despite the actions not directly leading to value creation, but rather have the potential to indirectly have a positive effect on the area, e.g. financial support to local business, education of local communities and/or research.

According to initial production sites selection to avoid deforestation and non-forest natural habitat disturbance, low terrestrial biodiversity areas were chosen for site construction. As a result, no reforestation is required to offset the natural habitat loss.

Additional Actions
Avoid clearing native vegetation or water features without prior survey.
Throughout Project lifetime Target: Zero unauthorized clearance.

Indicator: Survey records.
Operational Sites
Avoid sitting new facilities, expansions, or associated infrastructure within or adjacent to legally protected areas or areas of high biodiversity value without prior screening/assessment.
Throughout Project lifetime Target: Zero new developments or expansions within/adjacent to protected areas or high biodiversity value areas without prior screening.

Indicator: Number and/or percentage of new developments or expansion projects screened prior to commencement
Operational Sites
Remove invasive species from reservoirs and/or in-site green area.
Twice a year Target: To ensure there are no invasive alien species present in the project boundary.

Indicator: Decrease of invasive animal and plant species in project boundary.
Operational Sites
Maintain on-site green space and apply Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Throughout Project lifetime Target: No net loss of on-site green space area; reduced reliance on chemical pesticides/herbicides.

Indicator: Area (m2 or percentage) of on-site green space-maintained year-on-year; volume/frequency of pesticide and herbicide use.
Operational Sites
Revegetate empty plots within project boundary
Throughout Project lifetime Target: Increase in habitat-providing vegetated area.

Indicator: Area (m2 or percentage) of previously bare/empty plots revegetated within project boundary.
Operational Sites
Install water meters (where not already in place) and find ways to reuse water on-site, such as using treated wastewater for cleaning, instead of always using fresh water
Throughout Project lifetime Target: Reduce the amount of fresh water used per unit of product.

Indicator: Water use intensity and volume of water reused on-site
Operational Sites
Separate organic and packaging waste from general waste and send for recycling or composting instead of landfill.
Throughout Project lifetime Target: Reduce the amount of organic and packaging waste sent to landfill.

Indicator: Percentage of organic/packaging waste diverted from landfill
Operational Sites
Change outdoor lights to shielded light fixtures to control light pollution
Throughout Project lifetime Target: To reduce the number of nocturnal species drawn to the Project area by the Project's light sources.

Indicator:
-Number and/or percentage of outdoor light fixtures replaced with shielded/wildlife-friendly fixtures
-Number of nocturnal species/individuals recorded during monitoring (if applicable).
Operational Sites
Engage suppliers to adopt regenerative agriculture and sustainability certifications (e.g., grain/viticulture).
Throughout Project lifetime Target: Increase percentage of raw materials from certified sustainable sources.

Indicator:
-Percentage of raw material volume sourced from certified sustainable suppliers per year
-Number of suppliers engaged/onboarded to regenerative agriculture practices.
Operational Sites
Support local farmers in adopting agroforestry and international certification.
Throughout Project lifetime Target: Zero gross deforestation in the supply chain.

Indicator:
-Number/% of farmers supported in adopting agroforestry practices.
-Number/% of farmers achieving international certification.
Operational Sites
Keep a simple record of how each site interacts with nature (e.g., nearby habitats, any wildlife incidents) and assign one person at each site to be responsible for environmental issues
Throughout Project lifetime Target: A record is set up and kept up to date on all sites.

Indicator: Number and/or percentage of sites with an up-to-date nature interaction record.
